Key guide
Jev is the AI that reads each page. With your own key, Intent Filter asks Jev on your own provider account. A key is a long password from the provider.
The easiest way: in the extension, open Settings → Jev → How to Get a Key and click Get a Key on OpenRouter. The provider's site then opens with a short checklist in the corner that shows each step where you need it. This page is the same steps, for reading ahead.
- OpenRouter (recommended: you can sign in with Google)
- TypeSafe (straight from Jev's maker)
- Vercel (if you already use Vercel)
OpenRouter
- Sign up or sign in. Sign in with Google, or use your email.
- Finish the welcome pages. OpenRouter asks a few short questions after sign-up. Click Next, and for “Where did you first hear about OpenRouter?” any answer works; Other is quickest.
- Add $5 of credit, no more. OpenRouter adds a card fee, so $5 costs about $5.80. You enter the card yourself.
- Create your key. Click Create API Key. Name:
Intent Filter. Limit:5. The limit means the key can never spend more than $5. - Copy the key. OpenRouter shows it only once. Click its copy button. If you started from the extension, Intent Filter picks the key up from this page by itself; otherwise paste it in Settings → Jev.
TypeSafe
- Sign up or sign in. Sign in with Google, or use your email.
- Finish the welcome pages. TypeSafe shows its terms first, then three short pages: about you, your organization, and how you heard about it. Those three can be skipped. On the last page, click Enter console.
- Add $5 of credit, no more. $5 is the smallest amount. TypeSafe only lets you create a key once the account has credit. You enter the card yourself.
- Create your key. Click the API key button. Name:
Intent Filter. TypeSafe asks for nothing else; the key works for 12 months. - Copy the key and paste it in Intent Filter. Copy the key while TypeSafe shows it. Then go back to Intent Filter and paste it in Settings → Jev: it is tested at once.
Vercel
In the extension, Get a Key on Vercel opens Vercel's AI Gateway API Keys page. Create a key there, copy it and paste it in Settings → Jev.
Keeping your key safe
Your key stays in your browser. Intent Filter never sends it anywhere except to your provider, never shows it in a log, and leaves it out of Download My Data. If you think someone has it, delete it on the provider's site and make a new one.
